Everest is a film that tells the story of the 1996 Mount Everest disaster, in which climbing expedition destroyed by a severe storm. The film is directed by Baltasar Norm 2 Guns aacute; Kur and written by William Nicholson (Gladiator, Les Miserables) and Oscar winner Simon Beaufoy (Slumdog Millionaire and 127 Hours), starring Jason Clarke, John Hawkes and Josh Brolin. To start a beautiful film; director of photography Salvatore Totino set the size and scale of the beautifully environment with multiple air shot. Totino has a clear and linear style, refreshing after the summer, which with the exception of some films, dominated by the shaky-cam and cuts.The very quick dialogue in the film stand out, but the plot is not. The characters are underdeveloped, partly because of the lack of recognition given to our main characters; This coupled with the slow pace of the first act to cause the film to drag. However, it should be noted that the film makes a point of showing the process of preparing to climb Everest. The second stage is good, not great though and it is particularly intense during the storm and eventually only the film was finished, really throw you out of the film. Although none of the performances in the film is worthy of their awards is still acceptable and in some cases quite good. Jason Clarke and Josh Brolin have meatiest role, and both of them give a good show. However out of the way, Jason Clarke provided the best performance. Side characters are forgettable, except Doug (John Hawkes) and Yasuko (Naoko Mori), with Doug and Yasuko be the postman finally complete the seven summits, the two things that help to identify them. Everyone in the film it is care-beared, thankfully, and had to be otherwise it is impossible to tell that you are looking at.One part of the production to be commended in this film is the lighting department made an excellent job in setting clear display ; especially during a storm. Quick side note, the film score is possible. Finally, Everest is an intense thriller drama with a problem, however, is still beautiful to watch, I wouldnt buy it on Blu-ray 3D, because after watching in 3D I did not find anything impressive or noteworthy amazing, but I would consider buying on Blu ray. In general, I will give Everest C + or 6/10.
