Mars is a science fiction movie starring Matt Damon and directed by Ridley Scott. Their fan of Ridley Scott worked as a director, but I feel that most of the films have recently been very hit and miss. However, Mars mediate reminder why I’m a fan of him first. Not since I saw Interstellar science fiction movies have thought or clever written.After intense sandstorm destroys manned mission to Mars, the crew was forced to leave the desolate planet and astronaut Mark Watney (Matt Damon) is considered dead and stranded. Unbeknownst to the crew, Watney survived, though injuries from the storm, and tried to find a way to survive on the inhospitable climate of the Red Planet. As a botanist, Watney understand how to grow food for themselves by the crew of the supply of vegetables and use scientific knowledge to create crystal water by using hydrogen and oxygen from the base camp crew. However, this supply can only sustain it for several months as a rescue mission from Earth will take four years to reach it. Watney had to find a way to signal back to earth, he is still alive and in need of rescue before she ran out of food and water.Despite rather gloomy tone of life in the hostile terrain, the film still manages to have its fair share of funny moments and poignant that seamlessly interwoven into the film more dramatic scenes. Matt Damon perfect as the wisecracking but intelligent astronaut Mark Watney and positive attitudes towards survival is what keeps us invested in the story. The other players were great as well, including Jeff Daniels, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Kate Mara, Jessica Chastain, and even Donald Glover Community. I am also very pleased with the film’s pace, there was never a moment I felt rushed or slow and tedious. It was a welcome return to form legendary director Ridley Scott.I level of solid 9/10.
